Welcome to "The Nest"
A place where families are Nurtured, where we work with Emerging Skills and watch them Transform people's lives for the better.

If you are looking for Clarke Communication Services you are in the right place. We're undergoing some changes! It's been 11 years since Nikki (I) started my little private practice in Eldersburg. When I began in 2015 I truly thought it would be amazing to treat just 5 families. Fortunately my little solo practice blossomed into something I could never have imagined.

My plan was to fly through my career solo and retire at 50 (didn't happen), but when the opportunity to hire Bianca came to me, I had no reservations. We joined forces in 2023 & haven't looked back. Together we find ourselves practicing with joy, an insatiable hunger for learning, brewing creativity, deep compassion for one another & those we treat, & so much possibility!

At The Nest, we are clinicians who are deeply committed to growth — both for our clients and ourselves.

We are adding speech-language pathologists to our team who believe that communication, feeding, regulation, and voice are connected to the whole body. Our team seeks advanced training in areas such as craniosacral therapy, manual therapy, oral function, lactation support, nervous system regulation, and collaborative infant care.

All of our clinicians have experience in traditional settings — schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals — and have chosen to expand their skill set to better serve families seeking deeper, root-level care.

We are curious. We are collaborative. We value ongoing education and thoughtful, hands-on work.

We have been working together to create a beautiful space for families to feel truly cared for & nurtured.  We hope you love what we are creating as much as we do.

The Nest is a lifespan speech, feeding, and wellness practice providing compassionate, whole-body care for infants, children, and adults. We specialize in early recognition of airway concerns and tethered oral tissues (tongue ties) and offer integrated support for communication, feeding, breathing, and nervous system regulation. Our services include traditional speech & language therapy, infant feeding and airway support, early communication development, pediatric speech and feeding therapy, orofacial myofunctional therapy, craniosacral therapy, and adult neurorehabilitation. At The Nest, we believe healing begins when the body feels safe. We take a gentle, individualized approach that supports the whole person — body, breath, and communication — across every stage of life.

Who we are & What we do

Nikki Clarke

She is a Maryland Licensed, ASHA certified Speech Pathologist and has formalized training in Orofacial Myology and Craniosacral Therapy (through the Upledger Institute). She specializes in infant regulation, craniosacral treatment, feeding, and integrative oral function

Nikki prides herself in working very closely with families to achieve optimal results as quickly as possible. Nikki's main goal is to provide the highest quality services that meet the needs of the entire family and help client's achieve maximum success.

Bianca

Bianca is a speech-language pathologist with over 16 years of experience working with individuals and families across the lifespan. Her clinical background includes adult neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders—such as stroke, brain injury, progressive neurological disease, and dysphagia—with specialized training and experience in infant feeding in a level 3 NICU.

After many years in large hospital systems, Bianca found Nikki! Through their partnership, Bianca has gained exceptional mentorship to round out her clinical skill set to expand to treating early speech and language development and motor speech disorders to best accommodate our community.

Bianca has acquired specialized training and achieved qualification in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) to offer support and therapy that focuses on airway and oral motor maturation for speech and feeding skills from infancy to adulthood.

Bianca believes that strong therapeutic relationships are the foundation of meaningful progress. Trust, connection, and collaboration with clients and families are essential for achieving the best outcomes, and Bianca prioritizes creating a supportive, respectful space for care.

Billing

Credit Card Closeup

"The Nest" is a completely new company and separate from Clarke Communication Services (CCS). As of March 2026, CCS is no longer accepting new clients. All new clients will be seen under our new business (The Nest) beginning March 1st.. With this shift, we have made the decision to shift from billing insurance directly to a private pay based model. We will help families get reimbursed for their out of pocket expenses.

Clients who are currently established under CCS will continue to operate as normal until June 1. We want to make this transition as smooth as possible. For those who are experiencing financial hardship, please let us know.

Full body support throughout the tongue tie release process

Tongue ties can impact feeding, speech, breathing, and overall oral development. Not every restriction requires a release — but when function is affected, the right support makes all the difference.

We provide collaborative, airway-informed care before and after frenectomy to ensure lasting, functional results.

Our tongue tie services include:

• Functional evaluations to determine if a restriction is impacting development
• 4–6 weeks of preparation before release (when appropriate)
• Post-release rehabilitation to retrain movement and prevent compensation
• Support for feeding, latch, chewing, and swallowing
• Speech and articulation support
• Guidance on oral resting posture and nasal breathing
• Collaboration with trusted release providers and specialists
• Parent education and hands-on training for home success

A release alone does not automatically create new movement patterns.
We focus on restoring strength, coordination, and healthy function — so improvements are meaningful and sustainable.
